MIOTON (AKA)
• AKA: Plain Mioton; Plain Mioton-Red Top
• Multiple Makers, Introduced: Unknown Date of Introduction
• NOTE Sid Lethbridge: Generically this pattern of flutes on the bottom third (or so) of the bowl is called aka Miotin (Unitts Goblets1 p17). The reality is that there are several versions with slight variations e.g. top of flute is rounded or square, more or less flutes around the bowl, more or less facets on stem. That implies that there are several makers as well.
NOTE: Tom Felt re LE Smith catalog page: McKee is the likely manufacturer. When L. E. Smith first started, from 1907-1909, they leased the decorating department from McKee-Jeannette Glass Works, selling ruby stained items mostly made at that factory. After Smith moved to Mount Pleasant, the same items continued to be decorated by the American Glass Specialty Co.
