JEWEL (OMN) usgc
• AKA: Lacy Medallion
United States Glass Company (Pittsburgh-PA, Company Operated: 1891-1962) , Introduced: 1899 Introduced
• NOTE: Sid Lethbridge: US Glass made another short line that they called Jewel (OMN) as shown in the catalog cut below from about 1910. And yes, none of the Jewel pieces have the decorative feet associated with most of US Glass 15057 Colorado. But there are pieces of Colorado which do not have the feet either - e.g. tumbler, a small Jersey or tankard cream and a handled tumbler. The last two pieces were made by hand working the tumbler to add an handle and in the case of the Jersey cream, a lip. So how do you tell the difference? In short, if it appears in the catalog cut below exactly as shown it is Jewel aka Lacy Medallion, otherwise it is US Glass No.15057 Colorado.
NOTE: Jewel items have maries/collar bases.
