• NOTE: This set is based on the William Zimmer patent (below) of March 1884. There is a distinct possibility that this is Aetna's toy tilting pitcher because they were making a "patented tilting pitcher" in early 1884 and also a toy tilting pitcher.
American Pottery and Glass Reporter, May 8, 1884 - "The Aetna Glass and Manufacturing Co., Bellaire, Ohio, are getting out a new line of very handsome pressed and blown lamps; also a number of novelties, among them are the Butterfly Ice cream set, toy tilting pitchers, and several others which will be noticed further on."
