INVERTED THUMBPRINT AND STAR MILLARD (AKA) stem by Unknown Maker (Unknown Location, Operated: Unknown), c1886 Introduced
• AKA: Inverted Thumbprint and Star (Millard 1, Plate 170)
NOTE: One of two different goblets that were given the same AKA by Millard and Metz. This one appears in Millard 1, Plate 170. It first appears as new in an 1886 Butler Bros. catalog in crystal. The following year it is listed as being available in “four colours.” Amber, blue and canary are the common colours of this period and (apple) green which would be the fourth colour.
In the 1887 catalogue, assortments and items from King and Canton colours were listed amber, blue, canary and green. King and Canton would seem to be the front runners but Adams cannot be eliminated.
